Youngsters Bring Rugby Glory
16/06/2010

Two pupils from Newlands have had their rugby skills recognised in an award ceremony for young players at Eastbourne Rugby Club.
In May, six year old Leon Wood was chosen by his fellow team mates to receive the ‘Players’ Player Shield’, and Kamran Rajwani – also six, was selected by parents and the team’s coach and manger to receive the ‘Most Improved Player’ award.

Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Langridge commented: “Both children thoroughly deserve these awards. Leon is one of the highest try scorers in the team. His enthusiasm and commitment as a player inspires the team to work as a team.” Mr Langridge went on to say that, “Kamran joined the club at the beginning of the season with no knowledge of the game. His commitment to learn has made him a valuable member of the team.  I am keen see how both boys progress in the coming years.”
